An original creation crafted by industrial designer and product creator Bunshu Hachiro, who directly operates machine tools to shape each piece. The form embodies a balanced aesthetic guided by thoughtful, attentive design.

Built for long-lasting use, this product features an assembled structure where every component is fastened with screws to facilitate maintenance and repair. These original FACTRON screws feature a dedicated, specialized shape designed to be removed exclusively with a matching proprietary screwdriver.

During assembly, each component is carefully adjusted to account for subtle individual variations, ensuring balanced alignment throughout the finished piece. Screws are secured prior to shipping to prevent loosening; please refrain from disassembling the product yourself.

For this edition, we offer both Pure Titanium and Duralumin options. As each piece is made to order upon receiving your purchase, crafting takes time, but it is created to be a dependable item you can appreciate over years of use.

Product Description

Card Case TRUSS

FACTRON's first card case, released in June 2013, as a "card case that can be used for 100 years."
It has consistently been our best-selling card case.

Newly added vibrant colors to energize you.

Inspired by architectural truss structures, it is entirely machined from metal.
Despite its substantial appearance, it is lightweight.

Available in two materials: titanium and duralumin.

The lineup includes Shiny Silver, Champagne Gold, Black, and Titanium.

Factus Design by FACTRON has developed products with a strong commitment to creating unprecedented items, utilizing the knowledge and technology cultivated over many years in the world of watch design.

With an even greater commitment to "design" and "monozukuri" (craftsmanship), we embarked on developing a product that could also be used in business settings, and after three years, we created the ultimate card case.
As with previous FACTRON products, it is designed and developed with the premise of being "unlike anything seen before."

This card case is packed with meticulous attention to detail.

A key design feature is the large, round "hinge" section.

After repeated considerations of its size in relation to the overall design balance, it was made to be perfectly proportioned for this case.
This section has a different surface cutting method from other parts, resulting in a nearly mirror-like finish, and a special internal structure to ensure smooth opening and closing.

Another key design point is the motif of a "truss structure," commonly used in architecture.

This section concretely expresses "coolness" with an "industrial" theme, which is the design concept of this model.
The combination of diagonal chamfers and gentle curves, along with the intricate details of numerous trapezoidal holes, is a calculated design that stimulates human aesthetic sensibilities and naturally evokes a sense of "coolness."

Furthermore, like previous FACTRON products, it uses original design screws that are immediately recognizable.
These screws also serve as a symbol for the expression "unlike anything seen before."

The lid opens and closes smoothly.

Since the lid and body parts are machined separately, we combine carefully matched components and adjust each model to ensure smooth opening and closing.

The "feel" of "not too loose, not too tight" was a design element that required a significant amount of time for this card case.

The lid is designed to open wide for easy insertion and removal of business cards.
It can hold approximately 30 business cards.

Designed to open and close the lid by pressing a button on the side.

The latch mechanism that secures the lid is designed for durability, and the movable parts are built to withstand metal fatigue. It is also designed to produce a pleasing "snap" sound when closing.

The button spring utilizes a durable coil spring.
It is designed for long-term use.

This card case is meticulously crafted by our designers at Factus Design, who personally operate the machine tools, with utmost confidence.

In particular, the titanium model was perfected after extensive research into highly challenging machining processes.

Titanium is an extremely expensive material that is difficult to process and requires a long time for machining, but it is an ideal material due to its strength, lightness, and corrosion resistance.
Titanium is also a very human-friendly material, used in applications such as artificial joints.

The charm of the titanium model lies in its unique, smooth texture, a result of the machined finish.

On the left is the material before machining.

On the right is the state after 7 hours of machining to form the shape.

After this, it will be further processed by another machine tool to create separate parts.

Many sketches are made to expand on the image.

We developed a design, inspired by industrial design unique to product designers, that is truly unprecedented.

Three-dimensional modeling, meticulously calculated by the designer to look beautiful from every angle.

The design is refined through repeated checks of every detail.

Simulations of opening/closing, assembly, etc. are performed and verified repeatedly on the workstation screen.

Even for each individual tool path for machining, we search for aesthetically pleasing lines.

The workstation performs calculations repeatedly to consider the final consolidated design as a product.

The "design" is the result of repeated prototyping to enhance its completeness.
When prototyping, using the same material as the final product reveals many things, so the same process is repeated.

Prototypes that have served their purpose are recycled, melted down, and return as the exact same material.

Many jigs are actually needed to complete this small card case.

These are also designed and manufactured by the designer.
